What is Livinlux?

Livinlux is the ultimate Canadian destination for luxury handbag rentals. We provide our members with access to a carefully curated selection of authentic luxury handbags. But Livinlux is more than just a rental service – it's a community for all things fashion, styling and sustainability. 

Plus, we also give you the opportunity to share your under-loved bags from your own collection and earn some extra cash! It's all about embracing luxury, convenience, and connecting with fellow handbag enthusiasts. Welcome to the world of Livinlux!

Are all your items authentic?

YES! We pride ourselves on having a rigorous authentication process that undergoes our experts inspections as well as a third party database that confirms the authentication for all bags at the time they are listed on our site, AND when they are returned after each rental.

Where is Livinlux based out of?

We are based out of Toronto, Canada!

Who can use Livinlux services?

We’re here to serve all our fashionable Canadians of all ages and closet sizes! No matter where you are in life, use Livinlux to update your wardrobe, spice up an outfit, or plan your vacay ensembles and pictures, were here for you!

Are the rental Items brand new?

Our items are pre loved in excellent to good condition, outlined in the product page of each bag. We work hard to ensure the bags are kept in pristine condition during and after each rental, with a cleaning service involved between each rental.

What is the account approval process?

Signing up to be a Livinlux member comes with its perks, and we aim to ensure that every member of our fam is trustworthy and will treat our bags with the utmost care. To maintain the integrity of our community, our verification process includes ID verification during sign-up. Once approved, you will gain access to our first loyalty tier and all handbags within it, allowing you to kickstart your rental journey. For more details, explore our loyalty tiers here.

Why are orders and payment separated?

In order to provide the best possible experience to our customers our order placing process is in two stages. This helps ensure payment is secure and adds to our verification process!

  1. Pick your bag and checkout through our website- this will hold your bag under your name.
  2. Complete your payment by using the secure link sent to your email that will allow you to complete your order in Stripe. Make sure to checkout within 24 hours of receiving the link or the bag will not be held for you! 

What are the different membership tiers?

Our membership tiers were created with our amazing customers in mind! We not only want to give back to all our members with awesome perks, but we also want anyone who is lending their bags to feel secure that the member renting their bags is verified and passes all necessary checks.

Renting

How long can I rent an item for?

Currently we offer our rentals for 30 days.

When does my rental period start?

Your rental period will start the day your item is delivered and it is signed for at the time of delivery.

How do I return my rented item?

The return process was created with ease in mind:

  1. Hold on to your original packaging when you receive your rental, youll use this to return the item
  2. Include all accessories you received with your item
  3. We will provide you with the return label
  4. Bring your package back to the specified carrier before 12pm on your rental period end date.
  5. Ensure you get a receipt for the return in case anything happens so we can back you up!
  6. Start looking for your next rental! .

When do I return my item?

Be sure to follow the shipping instructions but we recommend to drop off prior to 12pm on the day your rental date ends. If your rental date falls on a weekend or holiday the same applies for the following day. 

What happens if i'm late to return my item?

Late returns result in a $30 daily late fee. If you are late to return past 7 days we will accept this as a non return and you will be charged the total price of the bag as defined by LIVINLUX.

Can I extend my rental period?

If you’d like to extend your rental period please email us at least 2 days prior to your rental period ending at customercare@livinlux.ca and our team will be in touch to discuss the potential options.

What if my rental item is lost in transit?

We do ensure all rentals across the supply chain are completely insured. We also take extra precautions to ensure the bags are handled with the utmost care during shipment which is why we require a signature at the time of delivery! Make sure to email us immediately at customercare@livinlux.ca  if there are any issues with receiving your package.

Additionally, when returning your item, it is the renters responsibility to ensure the package is scanned at the time of return. Without proof of return we are not liable for missing packages and would consider this a non return.

Will I get reimbursed if I return my rental item early?

Returning your rental early does not make you eligible for a reimbursement.

What happens if I damage my rental item?

Every case is different and we understand things happen. Our team will make the decision on the actions needed to be taken based on the condition of the bag.

If the bag is returned in a condition that doesn't meet our company's standards for re-renting or selling, and if it cannot be easily repaired, you will be responsible for paying the full retail/market price indicated on the listing, as stated in the terms and conditions agreement signed at the time of membership signup. Major damage includes stains, tears, rips, broken parts, gashes, or any visible wear larger than the size of a dime. In the event of any damages, please do not attempt to repair the bag yourself. Instead, reach out to our team immediately at customercare@livinlux.ca.

 We offer an insurance policy at the time of rental that covers odour, stains, or scuffs smaller than a dime. In such cases, we will take care of the repairs. Without the insurance policy, you may be subject to our cleaning fee of $65.00, as determined by our team at the time of bag return. We understand that accidents happen, and our team will handle it with care and consideration.

What if i receive the bag and it already has damages to it?

Understanding that most bags will be loved prior to your rental, we take great pride in the care we provide for each bag between rentals- and reflecting its true condition on our website. However, in the rare event that you receive a bag with existing damages, we understand your concern. Minor wear and tear, such as tiny scuffs, rub wear, or scratches on hardware, is considered normal and you will not be charged for any minor damages smaller than the size of a dime. Rest assured, we are committed to ensuring your satisfaction and will address any concerns promptly at customercare@livinlux.ca.

Will I be charged for minor wear and tear?

No, you will not be charged for minor wear and tear. We understand that normal usage can lead to tiny scuffs, rub wear, or scratches on hardware smaller than a dime, which are considered minor and expected. As part of our commitment to providing an exceptional experience, we do not hold our customers accountable for such minor damages. Your focus should be on enjoying the luxury handbag you've rented, and we'll take care of any minor wear and tear.

Can I buy the item that i'm renting?

As we build our community and inventory we want to give all of our members the opportunity to rent from our collection. At this time we will not be offering our inventory for sale- but if youre interested, reach out to our team at customercare@livinlux.ca and we’ll keep you in mind if/ when we decide to start selling!

How many Items can I rent at once?

As per our membership tiers, as a first and second tier member you can rent 1 handbag at a time. Once you unlock our third tier membership you earn the capability to rent 2 handbags at a time (and more fun perks)!

What if I don't like my rental?

We want you to absolutely love your rental choice!

Lending

What happens if the item i lend out is lost or stolen?

Rest assured, in the rare event of your item being lost or stolen, we've got your back. You'll be compensated the full value of the item, as assessed by our product specialists at Livinlux. However, to be on the safe side, we advise against lending out any sentimental or ultra-rare items, just in case. We want you to have peace of mind, and we're here to make sure your experience is worry-free.

How can I trust who my item is being lent out to?

When it comes to trusting who your item is being lent out to, we totally get your concern! Which is why we've implemented so many steps to make sure our members are super trustworthy!

What happens if my item doesn't get rented out ?

Your bag will stay listed on our site and receive marketing initiatives to promote the rental of your bag until it is rented out. You’ll receive payment based on the months that it is rented.

How many items can i lend out at once?

You can lend out as many items as you'd like! Some items are more popular than others so you will have a better chance of seeing your items rented out if you test a few out.

How long do I need to keep my item on rental for?

Your item is required to stay with Livinlux for at least 90 days to be lent out. If you'd like to retrieve your item before the 90 days then there is an early withdrawal fee of $200.

What if I want my rental item returned to me?

You can request your item returned to you if it's passed its 90 day duration and as long as your item is not currently rented out we can return it to you with a 30 day notice. If you would like to retrieve your item before the 30 day period there will be an early withdrawal fee of $200.

Which items are popular to lend out?

Popularity can vary from season to season! We recommend you testing your item on our explore page to gauge how many people rent out your item to make a more educated decision. You can also see our 'WANTED' section which gets updated regularly for in demand items our clients are looking for.
